Honeymoon.

For our Honeymoon JJ took me to Los Cabos where we stayed in a 5-star resort, La Estancia. We had a beautiful one-bedroom villa, complete with huge closets, jacuzzi tube, full kitchen, living room area and an awesome patio. We spent a lot of time on our patio, we could drink our coffee, read an enjoy the view.

When people ask what we did on our honeymoon, we can't say much. It was just a time to relax. JJ was working 100 hour weeks up to the wedding and I was swamped with all the last minute wedding plans and just trying to remain calm. It was great to sit on the beach and do nothing.

Our resort was about a 20 minute walk up the beach from the main part of town. The original attraction in Cabos was the fishing of marlin, so the town center was built around the marina. Here you can get a fabulous lobster dinner, pick up a tacky magnet, and drink all the margaritas you can handle!

We did eat lots of guacamole and tacos! During one of our lunches down in the Marina a sea loin was looking for some easy food. These fishermen were having a good time giving him their left overs.

One of the days we went on a sunset cruise out to see the arch. The arch is one of the main attractions in Cabo. The cruise was a lot of fun, it was on this huge catamaran. We had some pina coladas as the sun went down. We met another couple that frequented Cabos and they told us the best place to get lobster.

 The next day we went horse back riding. Which if you haven't done in several years you feel the pain for a few days after! haha. Unfortunately our guide went to press the button and our camera was exhausted. It was still fun riding though our horses did not get along, JJ's horse was very mean.

The day after we went jet skiing. I have never done that before and I had a blast. When JJ was driving he was being cautious and didn't want me to fall. I on the otherhand drove like mad. Its funny because you get going so fast that you don't want to loosen your grip for fear of falling off, however lossening your grip is the only way to slow down!

That same day we took a glass bottom boat to Lover's beach, which is located near the arch. The beach goes from the bay side of the arch to the Pacific side. On the bay side the beach is called Lover's, on the other divorce. We did not visit divorce beach.

One of the coolest things that we saw in Cabos were the mantarays. It is mating season for them and they attach mates by jumping out of the water and flying through the air. They travel in schools so it was really neat to see them jump in groups. I didn't get a great picture of them, I wish I had a video.

All in all we really enjoyed our honeymoon.

Wedding Sneak Peak.

So after a long hiatus from blogging, I'm back! Since JJ and I got married two weeks ago some of the craziness has subsided. We have returned from our wonderful Honeymoon in Los Cabos and are trying to get our lives organized again.

Celebrations.

Since I've been home I've seen some of the best people in the world! I've had the pleasure of being present for some good friends milestones. A 25th birthday and bachelorette outing.

A 25th Birthday! My big sister turned 25 this year with style. We rallied the troops including all but one of her bridesmaids for a night out on the town. We went to a Hibachi Grill which is always entertaining for dinner.

You must always be cautious when eating Hibachi. Especially when the cook has a twist of crazy in him.

After dinner we headed to DTA for cocktails at Level. More guest met us there and then we headed to City dock for dancing! It brought back a lot of memories dancing in Annapolis surrounded by midshipmen.

A Bachelorette Event! One of my college classmates is getting married this June to her Marine! We celebrated her upcoming nuptials in Baltimore at Mosaic.The night was a blast filled with dancing, laughs and only a handful of odd characters.

The party was hosted by Jenna's friend, Marcie, however Beth and I had no idea who she was. We ere trying to figure out who she was the whole night, sooooo "Who's Marcie?"

Jenna, Beth and I met at the University of Maryland in Art class. All three of us were in the Graphic Design Concentration and had a ton of classes together. Go Art majors!

Jenna congratulations on your engagement! I'm so happy for you, you are going to make a stunning bride! I can wait to see it all unfold.

Something Blue.

As most brides do, I have been gathering my something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. I have a family treasure that has been passed down to every bride to wear in her wedding for my something borrowed. I have a handkerchief given to me when I was baptized intended to be my something old on my wedding day. My something new will be my gown and finally my something blue! I have chosen to wear blue shoes!


I thought that blue shoes were quite common, but when you feel the pressure to find the perfect blue shoe, they all seem to go into hiding. I really wanted to get a pair of wedge patent leather blue shoes. I was able to find a couple of them, but then they had 4 inch heels or just not fabulous enough. I've been looking for months for the perfect shoe. I started my search in Hawaii and I've been to every place that I could think of to find a great pair of shoes.

Finally I was able to discover a very pretty pair of navu blye shoes that go great with my dress, but I'm not going to tell you about them; you'll just have to wait to see!


OK I know, I've tease. Hopefully this will hold you over; here are some of the losers!

A beautiful pair of Stuwart Weisman's. I actually bought these, but the heel was a stiletto and 4 inches, in downtown Annapolis that is a recipe for a twisted ankle! Not good for a wedding!

Hop, Skip and a Jump back to the Cold.

In a bitter sweet goodbye earlier this month I got on a plane and headed back to my old stomping grounds. Now I have to say that I was not sorry at all that I missed the terrible weather from this pass winter. I never really cared much for snow (unless I got out of school!).

That said I was really excited to see my people from home. It also meant that it was getting closer and closer to the wedding! So a little reluctantly and a role reversal I left JJ in Honolulu and boarded a plane back to the continental US. I went from Honolulu to Seattle to Chicago and finally Baltimore.

When I landed in Baltimore I couldn't find enough layers to put on! I've turned into a softy. (well truth be told, I never liked the cold nor was I ever "used" to it. I mean can anyone really be "used" to the cold?)
